Each of the staff members at Plis Funeral Home, Inc. is committed to providing your family with the finest in personal end-of-life care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

James M. Plis Sr. (Jim)


Jim is the founder of the Plis Funeral Home Inc. He is a life resident of the Auburn area. He received his degree in Mortuary Science from the Simmons School of Mortuary Science. He served his residency in Brooklyn, New York, and following that, he worked as a Licensed Funeral Director with the firm for three more years.

In 1973 the opportunity arose that allowing him to return home, and buy the Auburn funeral home. He is active in the community, with several civic and fraternal memberships. Professionally, Jim is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, New York State Funeral Directors Association, 8th District Funeral Directors, and Central New York Funeral Directors Association.


James M. Plis Jr. (Jamie) 


Jamie is the Manager of the Marcellus funeral home. He received his A.A. S. In Mortuary Science, in 1996, from the State University of New York, College of Technology at Canton. He served his residency with the Maurer Funeral Home.

Jamie worked with the Norris Funeral Home starting in 1997. The Plis family bought the funeral home in 2002, when Mr. Norris retired.

Jamie lives in the Village of Marcellus with his wife Jen and son Logan. He is active in several community organizations. Professionally he is a member of the National Funeral Directors Assoc., the New York State Funeral Directors Association, and the Central New York Funeral Directors Association.
