Obituary for Marion H. Ramsden (Hunter)

Marion Ramsden, 94 years young, of Marietta passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Marion was born in Constantia, N.Y., graduated from Marcellus Central School, and resided in Marietta until 2012.
Marion worked at Community General Hospital in the Admissions Office, and later at Skaneateles Country Club in the administrative offices. She was long-time member of the Navarino United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed her work as a member of the United Methodist Women. She later was a member of the Apple Valley United Methodist Church in Nedrow. Marion and husband, John, enjoyed entertaining and playing cards with friends, spending winters in Venice, Florida and appreciated the opportunity to do some traveling. Marion loved baking and cooking for neighbors, friends, and family in a time of need, and it was a rare occasion to find her without a book in her hand as she fulfilled her love of reading.
Marion was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, John, her sister Doris Marcellus, and her grandson, Arthur Sullivan, Jr. She is survived by her brothers Charles (Edith) Hunter of Baldwinsville and Robert Hunter of Phoenix, AZ, five children, Lona Ramsden of Cresco, IA, Jack (Anne) Ramsden of Syracuse, Kay (Arthur) Sullivan of Suisin City, CA, Keith (Janine) Ramsden of Marcellus and Brian (Betsy) Ramsden of Marcellus. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services per her wishes.
