Obituary for Iwan Torous

Iwan Torous, 93, of Auburn, died Thursday evening at the Commons on St. Anthony. Mr. Torous was a native of Sadzawka Ukraine. Following WW II, he resided in England from 1947 until he came to Auburn in 1958. He retired from Singer (McQuay) in 1984. He was a communicant of SS Peter & Paul Church, and a member if the SICZ Club. He was a master gardener, enjoying his time working in his garden with plants and trees.
Mr. Torous is survived by his wife Maria Petriw Torous whom he married in Bradford, England in 1949. He is also survived by his daughters Lesia (Gary) VanHouten of Ithaca and Ann Tonzi of Auburn, his son Walter (Lidia) Torous of Auburn, grandchildren Jeffrey, Katherine and Briana Tonzi and Luciana Torous, a sister Justina in the Ukraine, and 2 nieces.
Funeral services for Mr. Torous will be at 10:15 A.M. Monday, April 20, 2015 in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Plis Funeral Home.
