Obituary for Glenn A. Francis

Glenn A. Francis, 71, of Navarino passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014 peacefully at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Auburn to the late Jim and Barbara Titus Francis, he was a Communications Technician for AT&T retiring in 1998. Glenn was a life member of the Navarino Fire Department, in which he previously served as Chief and President. He was an avid sports fan and would watch any type of sporting event on TV. He was also a veteran of the US Navy where he played the trumpet in the Navy Band while enlisted. Glenn was honorably discharged in 1966.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 46 years the former Sharron Dwyer; daughter Meghan Francis of Fairmount; sons Matthew (Leigh) Francis and Mark (Stephanie) Francis, both of Navarino; grandchildren Gracie, Emily, Michael and Colton.
Service for Glenn will be 10 a.m. Monday July 28 at the Plis Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery with military honors. Friends and relatives may call on the family from 3-6 p.m. Sunday July 27 at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Navarino Fire Department.
