Obituary for James K. Acker

James Kermit Acker, 80, of Throop, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Mr. Acker was born in Dansville, New York to Mildred and Kermit Acker, on October 14, 1933. Until his retirement, he had been employed by Birnie Bus Co. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and enjoyed bowling, horse racing and Harley Davidsons.
He is survived by his sons, James "Butch" (Mary Lou) of E. Syracuse, and William of Auburn, his daughters Karen Hand and Christina "Tina" (Kevin) Ashby, of Auburn, Michele Axton of Florida, and Debbie Chamberlain and Diane Woodward of Auburn. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kevin (Andrea) Ashby, Tania (David) Kohut and Sean Ashby, and great grandchildren Cohen and Camilla Ashby.
He was predeceased by his wife Olga Kotzer Acker in 2007, his son Dennis, granddaughter Tricia Hand, parents Mildred and Kermit, and step-father Emerson Huber.
Funeral services for Mr. Acker will be at 10 A.M. Friday at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Half Acre. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 220 State St.
