Obituary for Mark H. Schultz Sr.

Mark H. Schultz, 62, of Auburn, died Monday May 16, 2016. A life resident, he was born June 6, 1953, the son of the late William and Barbara Keyes Schultz. He was a loyal, dedicated, and hardworking member of NYSEG where he worked 26 years as a mechanic.
Mark’s number one priority was his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and he would do anything to make them happy. Whether a dance recital or football game, he was always there for support. Friends of Mark were like family to him, and he treated them as such. He had a gift to be able to calm a crying or upset child.
He had a great passion for cars since a young age, and he could diagnose a problem right away.
His “shirt-off-his-back mentality was how he lived his life. Race or age didn’t matter. His kindness and unrelenting devotion to all will be greatly missed. He was beautiful inside and out, a great gift to us all.
Mark is survived by his wife of 32 years Amy Fowler Schultz, five children, Sally (Kevin) Miller of Blue Ridge, GA, Penny (Joseph) Prignon of Cortland, Misty (David) Marcuccilli of Montezuma, Mark (Kerri) Schultz Jr. of Northport, FL and Matthew Schultz of Auburn, and his grandchildren Jordan and Jake Prignon, Austin and Kaylee Marcuccilli, and MacKensie, Emma and Ella Schultz. Also surviving is his brother William Schultz of Auburn, sisters Shawn (William) Moody of Binghamton, Susan Brinkman of Wolcott, Cindy Schultz of Auburn, and Cathy Davis of Williamson, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St. Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the Cayuga, Aurelius, or Throop Fire Departments.
