Obituary for John D. Schreiber

John D.  Schreiber
John D. Schreiber, 82 of Skaneateles passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Mexico, NY to the late Roy and Gertrude Schreiber. He retired from Crucible Steel working in the Shipping and Receiving Department. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and loved to collect radios and cameras which lead to his love of taking pictures. He also collected Hess toy trucks and loved to go to garage sales looking for a bargain.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 53 years the former Yvonne Eibert; beloved children Scott (Penny), Joy (Cesar) Alaniz, Christopher (Sherry), Mark and Steven. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and siblings Richard and Gene Schreiber and Betsy Gebhardt. He was also predeceased by his grandson Cody Schreiber in 2013.
Services for John will be 1 p.m. Saturday January 28, at the Plis Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 11a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the services all at the funeral home, 33 North St. Marcellus.
Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the Rose Hill Baptist Church.
