Obituary for Dorothy Kalabanka (Bodner)

Dorothy Bodner Kalabanka, 87, of Auburn, died Thursday March 2, 2017. Mrs. Kalabanka was a life resident of the Auburn area, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Bodner. She was retired from General Electric Auburn. She was a communicant of SS Peter & Paul Church. She enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook for them, and was famous for Saturday Pizza Day, and Sunday Dinner.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, David and Mary Kalabanka and William and Susan Kalabanka, all of Auburn, her grandchildren Zachary, Colin, Hannah and Jack Kalabanka, her sister Helen Tarby of Syracuse, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Antin Kalabanka in 1996, sisters Ann Lewis, Mary Moore, and Theresa D’Alberto, and brothers Peter and William Bodner.
Friends are invited to call Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State Street. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in her memory to SS Peter & Paul Church.
