Obituary for Philip A. Kenyon

Philip A. Kenyon, 53, of Syracuse peacefully left our world, at home, in the early morning on Wed, Aug 16, 2017 to be reunited with his parents.

He was the only son of Robert and Betty Kenyon of Marcellus, NY. Philip attended Marcellus High School and OCC and then worked for years in the commercial roofing and construction trades. He found his soulmate at the age of 22 and spent his life devoted to being the best partner he could be.

Philip is survived by his loving wife, Linda L. Kenyon, mother in law, Cathy McCafferty, sister in law, Joann Kinane, nephew Patrick (Pam) Kinane, niece Sarah (Mark) Parrish; Aunt Jean (Bob) Munson, Aunt Joan (Reg) LaCroix, Aunt Donna (Don) Lesack, Uncle Bob (Paula) Bacon of Ontario, CA; Uncle Dennis (Lorna) Bacon of British Columbia, CA; 12 cousins in various parts of Canada; a great nephew, a great niece and his beloved dog Rufus who was always by his side.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Kenyon in 2005 and mother, Betty Kenyon in 2015.

Philip was a member of the Baldwinsville Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family camp in the Adirondacks. He found happiness in the simple things in life and had a great sense of humor along with an endless supply of witty sarcasm which remained with him until the very end.

As per Philip’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. A private celebration of his life will be held later this fall at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests that those who would like to make a contribution in Philip’s memory, please consider Hospice of CNY or Baldwinsville Rod and Gun Club.
