Obituary for Henry W. Hawley

Henry Wickes Hawley, age 69, died peacefully on January 17, 2018 in his Marcellus home after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Son of William Gere Hawley and Jane Hawley, Henry grew up in Skaneateles, N.Y. in a large family, graduated from Skaneateles High School in 1967, attended Onondaga Community College, and eventually settled in Marcellus with his wife Kathy. He was known for his outgoing personality, infectious smile, sense of humor, and gentle nature. Henry loved the outdoors and was an avid birder and fisherman. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball and softball. Henry worked for many years as a Purchasing Agent for Onondaga County. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and loving caretaker, Kathy Hawley; his daughters Brooke Hawley, Jane Erin (Terry) Baillergeon; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Johanna, Jacob and Joel; his sister Georgia (Salvatore) Sclafani, brothers Richard Hawley, Joseph (Sarah) Hawley, Benjamin Hawley and many nieces and nephews. Henry was pre-deceased by his parents and by his brother Gere.
Burial will be private.
