Obituary for Anthony J. Carnicelli

Anthony J. “Muckles” Carnicelli, 86, of Auburn, died peacefully at home with his family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Mr. Carnicelli was a native of Auburn, the son of the late Samuel and Catherine DiGiaimo Carnicelli. He was a graduate of West High School. He was a Firefighter with the Auburn Fire Dept., retiring in 1987. After retirement he worked with his cousin Bob Montone at Bob’s Deli on Seward Ave. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a former member of the Carnicelli-Indelicato Post, American Legion.
“Muckles is survived by his children Lorraine Carnicelli, John Carnicelli and Daniel Carnicelli, all of Auburn and Samuel (Lori) Carnicelli of Cato. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kelly (Brent) Logue, Stacy (Richard) Canino, Steven DelFavero, Melanie Bobbett, Ashley (Dan) Bobbett - X, Brittney Carnicelli, Bryant Carnicelli, Emily Shaffer, Logan Carnicelli, Kyle (Justin) Menard, and Jordan (Tomo) Cronk, great grandchildren Rebekah Logue, Gabriel, Caleb and Meah Canino, Joy Bobbett – X, Patrick Smith, Grayson Stiles, Lori and Emma Menard, his sisters Philomena Carnicelli and Ida Morabito of Auburn, 8 nieces, 12 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six brothers John, Carmen, Roland, James, Arthur, and PFC Charles Carnicelli who was killed in action while serving with the Marines during WW II, four sisters Josephine Carnicelli, Louise Aubin, Norma Riffle and Diana Rush, and four nephews Thomas Aubin, Samuel Carnicelli, Charles Riffle and Michael Morabito.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for “MucKles” at 10 A.M. Monday, February 12th, in Sacred Heart Church. Spring Burial will be in Sampson Veterans Cemetery.
Friends are invited to Sunday from 3 to 6 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St.
