Lorance W.  Yates
Lorance W. Yates, 84, of Skaneateles passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born in Syracuse to the late William and Sophie Yates. He was an alumnus of Syracuse University class of 1955. He was retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Utility Company as a printer. He was a member and two time president of The International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He enjoyed traveling and taking photographs and was a lifelong subscriber to National Geographic.
Lorance is survived by his children Lorance “Randy” (Sandra) Yates of Atlanta, GA; Yvonne (Andrew) Davidson of Skaneateles; Rebecca (Robert) Yates of Phoenix; and Carrie (Thomas) Boyle of Hammonton, NJ. He also leaves behind his grandsons Matthew, Scott, Corey, and Rusty, his sister Eleanor McKee and his beloved black lab Sophie. He was predeceased by his wife Carole in 1987.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Monday, February 12, at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to your local SPCA.
