Obituary for Roderick E. Straub

Roderick E. Straub, 85, of Marietta passed away Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Weedsport, he was a farmer owning and operating his own farm. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Rod was an avid NY Yankees and SU Basketball fan. He was predeceased by his wife Sharon in 2005 and son David in 2007.
Rod is survived by his daughters Wendy Straub of Marietta and Kimberly Andrews of Edgewood, MD; sons Dale (Patricia) of Marietta and Kenny (Tina) of Palm Harbor, FL. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Jason, Andrew, Marisa, Kenneth, Kyle, Kara and Kaitlyn along with 2 great granddaughters and his faithful four legged companion Penny.
Services for Rod will be 5 p.m. Saturday February 17 at the Plis Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 3-5 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA.
