Obituary for Helen Hulik Zerbny

Helen Hulik Zerbny, 95, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Sunday December 27, 2015 at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo.
A lifelong resident of Auburn, Helen was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Fanok Hulik. She was employed by the Auburn Button Shop, and retired from General Electric, Auburn, in 1982. She was a communicant of SS Peter & Paul Church, a member of the Ukrainian National Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary, and Highland Park Golf Club.
Helen married Andrew Zerbny on December 28, 1940, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Her favorite love, and greatest joy was taking care of her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took pride in keeping her house in pristine condition, baking, attending her church, and expressing joy and love with each greeting of family and friends. She loved to knit, making afghans and baby sweater sets.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Eugene) Lopez of Seneca Falls, 3 grandchildren, Stacey (Kenneth) Bogart , and Andrew Lopez of Seneca Falls, and Allison (David) Giunta of Macedon, NY, 5 great grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Matthew Bogart, Paige and Brooke Giunta, her brother Michael Hulik of Auburn, and many special nieces and nephews. She will be forever remembered by all of them.
Besides her husband Andrew and her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers John, William and Joseph Hulik, infant brother William, infant sister Mary, sisters-in-law Mary Hulik, Josephine Hulik, Patricia Hulik, and nephew David Hulik.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services for Helen will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no prior calling hours.
