Obituary for Mark Rusell Charles Ouderkirk

Mark Russell Charles Ouderkirk, 62, of Syracuse passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 27, 2015.
Born in Syracuse to the late Richard Ames and Joan Marjorie (Cole) Ouderkirk, he was the second of four children. Those who knew and loved him knew a wonderfully funny, kind, generous and loving soul.
Mark loved all things nature (except the cold in the later years). He loved nothing more than spending time with family at his grandparents and uncles former camp on Seventh Lake in the Adirondacks, or camping with his boys and his brother. He had two sons who were the joy and pride of his life. He was recently blessed with three beautiful granddaughters. Mark was predeceased by his parents and sister Carole (Ouderkirk) McDowell.
He is survived by his sons Nathan (Brandy) Ouderkirk of Fabius and Matthew (Heidi) Ouderkirk of Sheds; three granddaughters; brother Lee of Lansing; sister Amy of Marcellus; and several aunts' uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service to honor Mark will be held on Saturday August 1 at 1 p.m. at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Marcellus American Legion.
